    Sussex Beach Volleyball Club

Launched in 2015 by a group of committed, dedicated, some-might-say-obsessive, beach volleyball players, Sussex Beach Volleyball Club exists to provide all members of the local community with the opportunity to participate in the wonderful world of beach volleyball in a rewarding, safe and sociable environment that emphasises fun, learning and friendship as well as teamwork and collaboration.

Whether it's classes, courses, competitions, free play sessions or club socials you can guarantee that you'll be with like-minded people. Whether you're looking for a new hobby, new tribe, or simply another fitness fix, you will find someone on your wave length here.

    Sussex Volleyball Association

The Sussex Volleyball Association (SVA) is the governing body of the local volleyball league for the English counties of East and West Sussex. Its objective is to promote the sport of volleyball and to support and co-ordinate the clubs participating in the Sussex League.

The league is composed of three divisions: Men’s 1, Men’s 2 and Ladies’, with a total of 23 registered teams across nine clubs.

    Worthing Volleyball Club

Worthing Volleyball Club currently has three men's teams, three ladies teams and a National League ladies team. They pride themselves on catering for players of most ages and abilities. From juniors to "more seniors" and from very serious to "more social" leading to a healthy mix of fun and competition. The Club trains at Worthing High School, South Farm Road, on Tuesday nights from September to April, from 6.00pm for Ladies, with the addition of the Men at 7.30pm. Matches are largely played on Sunday evenings at the High School, but away match days vary.

    Beach Tennis UK

Beach Tennis is a cross between tennis, beach volleyball and badminton. It’s a fun sport suitable for all ages and abilities, ideal for families, groups of friends, leisure as well as professional players. It's very easy to play and has real health benefits. Beach Tennis UK plays in Brighton, Worthing, Redbridge and London.

  • About Worthing Sand Courts

    Beach Inspiration

    In the beginning...

Built in 2011 thanks to a £32,500 grant from Sport England via Volleyball England and £17,000 from Worthing Borough Council, the sand courts were created to encourage more people to play sport.

Adur & Worthing Councils' Regeneration Team successfully applied for the money to replace disused tennis courts at the Beach House Grounds with the multi sport sand court and a few years later flood lighting was added, helped by funding from WSCC's Kick Start Programme to increase the opportunities for clubs and the community to use this facility at all times of day, throughout the year.

    The next chapter...

Since their conception, the sand courts have grown in use and popularity now providing a home for a number of sand sports clubs and activity centres including Sussex Beach Volleyball Club, Beach Tennis UK, Beach Soccer and Baker Water Sports Academy

    Looking forward...

With new management of the courts shared between Coast Cafe (Stefan Sykes) and Sussex Beach Volleyball Club (Kirsty Starmer), there is now the opportunity to take significant steps forward with Sand Sports in Worthing and beyond. More information can be found in "Our Vision" and "Clubs"
